Cairo taxi fare on Al Nasr Rd 2026: is 150 EGP fair?
From the airport 150 is fine, but along Al Nasr Rd itself Uber and Careem usually beat street taxis.
Agreed on both counts, though for the airport run the fixed app price can actually undercut a street taxi if traffic is bad. With Careem you see the number upfront so no haggling at the curb.
Surge pricing hits hard around 4pm though
It's usually closer to 5pm when offices empty out, and the metro at Al-Shohadaa absorbs some of that crowd.

yeah and if u do use an app, screenshot the fare before the ride in case the driver tries to renegotiate. street guys on that road sometimes claim the app price was wrong.

was there last spring, no need to pre book. foreigners pay around 450 egp now i think, card only at the gate so dont rock up with cash. go right at 8am opening, the mosque terrace is empty & the light is better
