πŸ›οΈ Day 1: Ancient Wonders
Start your day at the Giza Plateau (Al Haram, Giza, open 8 AM-5 PM, 540 EGP). Visit the Great Pyramid, the Sphinx, and the Solar Boat Museum. Plan to arrive by 8 AM to beat the crowds and the heat.

πŸš• Transit Between Sites
From Giza to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) is a 15-minute taxi ride (about 50 EGP). The GEM is partially open in 2026, with the main hall and Tutankhamun galleries accessible (tickets 600 EGP). Allow 3-4 hours for the visit.

🍲 Lunch in Zamalek
Take a 30-minute taxi from GEM to Zamalek (around 70 EGP). Try Sequoia (Al Gabalaya St, open noon-midnight) for Nile views and Egyptian fusion dishes. Mains range from 200-400 EGP.

πŸ›οΈ Day 2: Islamic Cairo
Begin at the Citadel of Saladin (Salah Salem St, 8:30 AM-5 PM, 200 EGP). Explore the Mohamed Ali Mosque and the Military Museum. Then walk 15 minutes to the Sultan Hassan Mosque (free entry, open 9 AM-5 PM).

πŸ›οΈ Khan El Khalili Bazaar
From Sultan Hassan, take a 10-minute taxi (20 EGP) to Khan El Khalili. Haggle for souvenirs, spices, and jewelry. Stop at El Fishawy Cafe (open 24 hours) for mint tea (15 EGP).

πŸš‡ Day 3: Coptic Cairo
Take the Metro to Mar Girgis Station (line 1, 5 EGP from downtown). Visit the Hanging Church (free, 9 AM-4 PM), the Church of St. Sergius, and the Coptic Museum (200 EGP, 9 AM-5 PM). Allow 3 hours total.

πŸŒ† Nile Felucca at Sunset
From Coptic Cairo, walk 10 minutes to the Corniche. Hire a felucca (traditional sailboat) from the dock near the Four Seasons Hotel. Expect to pay 200-300 EGP per hour for a private boat. Sunset rides are magical.

ngl the day 2 itinerary is solid but you're missing out on Al-Muizz Street, it's literally a 5 minute walk from Khan El Khalili and has some of the best preserved medieval architecture in the city. the Qalawun Complex alone is worth the detour, ticket is like 100 EGP and you get to see a mausoleum, hospital, and madrasa all in one spot. also the taxi from Giza to GEM is more like 30-40 EGP if you flag one down on the street instead of getting one from the taxi stand, drivers at the plateau always inflate the price for tourists. for day 3 the metro tip is good but heads up the line gets packed around 5 PM, if you're heading back from Coptic Cairo after the felucca just take a taxi for 30 EGP instead of dealing with the rush hour crowd

honestly this is a solid plan, the only thing id change is day 3's lunch situation. there's a spot called Abou El Sid in Zamalek that does killer koshari and molokhia, way better than anything near Coptic Cairo. also for the metro on day 3, watch out for the women-only cars if you're a guy, theres signs but tourists miss them all the time and get weird looks. the felucca suggestion is spot on, just make sure you agree on the price before getting on and have small bills cause some drivers will try to say they dont have change for a 200.

the day 1 schedule is pretty tight with the museum after giza, i'd swap them honestly. do the museum first since its air conditioned and opens earlier, then hit giza in the late afternoon when the light is better for photos. also for khan el khalili on day 2, skip el fishawy and go to Naguib Mahfouz Cafe instead, its right there in the bazaar and way less touristy, same mint tea but half the price and actual egyptians hang out there
