i did this last spring, not in cairo now but went through it. the work permit from ur employer has to be stamped by the ministry before u even touch the mogamma, that's step one people skip. lease registration at the shahr aqari office near al nasr is the real bottleneck, budget a full morning & bring the landlord or a poa. medical test is easy if u go early, the lab queues get brutal by 10.
yep the ministry stamp is the one that stalls everything. on the lease, the shahr aqari also wants the landlord's ID copy plus the utility bill, and they turned my friend away for a missing building number. medical lab near ramses was fine at 8am, dead by 10.

That wahda aqari stamp also has to match the unit number on the lease exactly, or the shahr aqari kicks it back.
get there by 7:30 anyway, the lab shuts its queue once the morning rush fills and u end up back the next day
building number trips everyone up, mine was missing the floor
utility bill needs the same name as the lease
how early did u get the ministry stamp done, cuz that queue alone can eat a week if the employer drags their feet

was there last spring, no need to pre book. foreigners pay around 450 egp now i think, card only at the gate so dont rock up with cash. go right at 8am opening, the mosque terrace is empty & the light is better
