Salah El Din Citadel ticket price 2026, is this normal?

The official foreigner ticket runs around 450 EGP, so the extra 100 is his guide cut; pay at the window yourself and keep small bills for the toilet attendant.

550 EGP with a guide sounds about right for a foreigner, but you can buy the ticket yourself at the window for less and just wander.

Guide fee's separate, gate price posted.

Best way to meet people in Cairo 2026?

Are there regular meetups, clubs, or classes near the Salah El Din Citadel area where a newcomer can show up weekly and actually get to know people? Any suggestions for someone starting from zero there?

try looking up classes at a nearby club or gym in el moez area, something weekly beats random meetups

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Weekly is the key part, agreed. Worth noting El Moez Street is a good 20 to 30 minute walk from the Citadel itself, so if you're set on that area look at ahwas and sports clubs in El Khalifa or Sayeda Zeinab instead. Same idea, shorter commute.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

yeah the metro ride makes that walk a nonstarter

Ahwa Al Horreya on Mohamed Ezz El Arab, evenings.

Fair point on the club angle, though the Cairo Capital Club and the Gezira clubs need memberships or sponsors, so check waiting lists before you count on it.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

sporting club in maadi, much shorter waitlist

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

good point, though the cheaper route is a government youth center (markaz shabab) membership, way less paperwork than the private clubs

Language exchange nights at places like Diwan or Sawy Culturewheel are underrated for meeting ppl regularly, ngl.
