450 is the standard foreigner rate now.

arrow_drop_up 9 arrow_drop_down

yeah 450 for foreigners, egyptians pay way less

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Egyptians pay like 60 egp, huge gap

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

the gap is real but worth noting the Egyptian rate is only for nationals with an ID, so u can't just flash a resident visa and get it. also the 450 covers the military museum and mosques up top, its not just the gate

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Correct, students get in half price with ISIC.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

and it went up from 400 last year

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Prices jumped again in January, so 450 might be stale already.

arrow_drop_up 22 arrow_drop_down

That jump tracks with the currency float more than anything. I paid 300 a couple of years back. For the taxi, downtown to the Citadel should run 80 to 120 EGP on a meter, so agree on that before you get in.

Book online through the official portal instead and you'll often save 20 to 30 EGP over the gate price.

How bad is the traffic there during morning rush, and is there anything about the road layout or exits I should know before I arrive?
arrow_drop_up 15 arrow_drop_down

morning rush on Al Nasr is rough, i'd budget 45 min for a stretch that takes 15 off peak. the road itself is fine but watch for the u-turn slots, they come up suddenly and people cut across lanes to hit them. also ngl the microbus drivers stop anywhere, so keep a gap. gas up before you head out, stations on that road are sparse.

Flyover exit near City Stars, easy to miss.

yeah that whole stretch around Abbas El Akkad is confusing if you don't know it. the turnoffs come up fast and signage is mostly Arabic, so learn your lane early. honestly google maps saved me more than once there.
