Al Nasr Rd traffic 2026: best time to drive it?
honestly avoid 7 to 10am and 4 to 8pm, it's gridlock. i'd skip Al Nasr entirely and take the Metro line 3 from the airport area toward downtown, way less stress. teh airport shuttle buses are another option if u have bags.
Worth adding that Line 3 doesn't reach the airport itself, so you'd need a taxi to Heliopolis first before switching.
yeah that's the catch, the taxi bit to the metro is short but you still sit in the same mess on Al Nasr. fwiw the airport taxi desk is fixed price so at least u know the fare upfront.
True, though if you're heading downtown from there you can also grab the M1 from El Shohadaa instead of going all the way into Heliopolis.
Good point, and the taxi leg matters less than people think. Just time your arrival outside peak hours and the whole trip is fine.
The airport shuttle drops at Tahrir, which beats wrestling bags through a metro change at Attaba.
Shuttle also runs from Terminal 3 arrivals every 30 mins or so, and the ride to downtown is roughly 45 mins outside peak hours.
