yeah this is a really well thought out plan. one thing i'd tweak is the day 1 museum timing, it's small enough that you can breeze through in 45 minutes and still have time to grab a coffee at the little shop on huashan road before heading to people's park. the morning rush at the noodle place around 11:45 can be brutal, so either go at 11 or push it to 1pm when the line dies down. for the swan lake bus, route 1 drops you at the south gate but the north entrance off shanxian road has way less foot traffic and a nicer path along the water if you don't mind walking an extra 5 minutes. the cruise is the highlight tbh, the cliffs on the far side have these old boatman caves carved into the rock that the guide barely mentions.
i've done this exact route a couple times and it holds up well. one thing that's easy to miss is the small observation platform at the yellow river dam itself, not just the cruise. you can walk right up to the edge for free if you go through the side gate near the parking lot, the view of the water crashing through is better than from the boat honestly. for the museum near wenfeng temple that the other person mentioned, it's called the sanmenxia buddhist stone carving hall and it's only open 9-11am on weekdays, so check before you go. the lingbao persimmons tip is solid, grab a bag from the old lady at the north end of wanfugou near the fountain, she's been there forever and her prices are fair without haggling
nice planning, this covers the main spots well. if you're up for a little detour on day 1, the shanxian county earth building complex is about 40 minutes west of the city by bus. it's a cluster of traditional underground courtyard homes called di keng yuan, some still lived in. entrance is 30 yuan and it's way less crowded than the swan lake area. for the yangrou paomo at laochenghuang, ask them to add a bit of their house-made chili oil, it gives the broth a nice smoky kick that most tourists don't know about. the swan lake boardwalk is good year round but if you go in summer, bring mosquito repellent, the water attracts them.

re: the yangshao ruins, the guide mentions the outdoor area is free but doesn't say you can actually walk right up to the excavation pits if you go early enough. i showed up around 8 am and a caretaker just waved me through, no ticket needed for the main site before 9. the pottery shards are just lying there in the dirt, you can see the red clay patterns they're famous for. just don't pick anything up, they're pretty strict about that
if you're into photography, the shanzhou pagoda is way better at golden hour than midday like the guide suggests. the light hits the yellow river just right and you can frame the pagoda against the water, it's a classic shot. also, most people don't realize you can climb to the top floor, the stairs get narrow but the view from up there is worth it
for the yangshao culture ruins, skip the main museum building and just walk the outdoor area. there's a small trail behind the main site that leads to an actual excavation trench they left uncovered, you can see the pottery shards still in the ground. it's not marked and the guards don't mind if you're respectful
the bus to yuxia mountain is cheap but annoying, the 1 yuan route takes forever with all the stops. if you're with two or three people, just grab a taxi for about 40 yuan and split it, saves you an hour each way and the driver will drop you right at the trailhead instead of the bus stop a kilometer away
