yeah this is a great plan, youve clearly done your homework. one thing nobody mentioned yet for day 1 - the confucius temple has a side gate on the east wall that leads directly to a small garden called the Hall of Great Accomplishments. most tourists miss it cuz they follow the main path but its got these massive stone steles with inscriptions from like the ming dynasty. takes maybe 20 mins but way quieter than the main halls

for day 3 at weishan lake, if you go in late summer the lotus seeds are in season and the old ladies near the dock will sell them fresh for like 5 yuan a bag. theyre kinda bitter raw but you boil em for a few mins and theyre sweet. way better than the dried stuff they push on tourists. also the ferry to the island runs every hour on the hour, not every 30 mins like some guides say, so plan accordingly or youll be stuck waiting

one more thing on the muslim quarter - the best lamb skewers arent on dongmen street itself but down the first alley on the left, there's a guy with a red cart who's been there for like 20 years. his spice mix is different, more cumin heavy. 2 yuan each same as the street stalls but better quality

Really nice itinerary, you've done your research. For Day 1, if you're at the Confucius Temple early, grab a bowl of noodles at the stall just outside the east gate before it opens. It's a tiny cart run by an old couple, 8 yuan for a bowl of noodles in bone broth, and they've been there since before the temple became a major tourist site. Way better than the overpriced breakfast places on the main street.

On Day 3 at Weishan Lake, the bus from Jining actually passes through a small town called Luqiao about 20 minutes before the lake. If you see a big red pagoda on the left side of the road, get off there instead of going all the way to the main dock. There's a little temple complex right on the water that's completely free and usually empty, then you can walk 10 minutes south to a local ferry point where the fishermen charge 30 yuan to take you across to the island. The lotus fields on that side are less trampled and you'll see egrets hunting in the shallows.

solid itinerary, you really covered the big three. One thing I'd add for Day 1 - the walk from the Confucius Temple to the mansion is through a nice old street with little shops selling rubbings and seals. If you're into calligraphy at all, grab a small rubbing for like 10-15 yuan, way better souvenir than the stuff at the big gift shops.

For Day 3 at Weishan Lake, honestly skip the boat tour if you're on a tight schedule. Just take the ferry to the island itself (it's like 5 yuan) and walk around the lotus fields and the old fishing village on the east side. The boat tours feel kinda rushed and you don't get to actually step off anywhere interesting. The dried fish they sell at the dock market is legit though, I still have some in my pantry from last year.

Also worth mentioning that the Muslim Quarter on Dongmen Street is prob your best bet for dinner on any night, not just Day 2. The lamb skewers are about 2 yuan each and they grill them right there on the street. Gets busy around 6:30 so go early if you want a seat.

You should definitely try the local specialty called "甏肉干ι₯­" (beng rou gan fan), which is braised pork belly served over rice. It's a hearty, savory dish that's been a staple here for centuries.
