i'd add that the confucius temple in qufu is worth pairing with the confucius mansion next door, it's like 50 rmb for a combo ticket and you see where his descendants actually lived for centuries. the mansion has this quiet courtyard garden with a 500 year old wisteria vine that blooms purple in april, hardly anyone goes back there
for the noodles, lao jining is legit but if you're around taibai lake at night the noodle cart near the south bridge serves a spicy beef version that's 12 rmb and they use these thick hand-cut noodles that soak up the broth better. the guy's been there since i was a kid and he only comes out after 8pm
the market tip about the candied hawthorn is real, i'd add that the old lady also makes these sugar-coated hawthorn skewers with a walnut inside if you ask nice. costs 10 rmb but she hides them under her cart for regulars
Agree on the Liangshan back route tip, I took that path last fall and there's a small family-run tea stall about halfway up where the grandmother makes this amazing jujube tea for 5 RMB. She'll refill your thermos for free if you bring one.
The guide's noodle recommendation is spot on but if you want a change from pork, head to Wenxiang Noodle on 12 Taibai Road for their sesame paste noodles instead. They hand-pull the noodles in the window and the sesame sauce has this slight numbing pepper kick that's perfect with the cold cucumber side dish.
A solid list, the museum really is better than most people expect for a city this size. If you have time, the little folk art museum tucked inside the same complex has a room full of these incredible paper-cuts from the Qing dynasty that they don't advertise.

For the noodle recommendation, Lao Jining is great but their broth can be inconsistent depending on who's working. If you want the same dish with a more reliable flavor, go to the original location on 23 Shuyuan Street, same family runs it but the owner's daughter is usually cooking there and she's more careful with the seasoning.
