Find a larger shower head?

Question

I need to find a shower head here in soul however I can't find the right size. My pipe is a size bigger than the usual size so normal shower heads doesn't work, I need one with a bigger connector hole, does anyone know where to find an adapter or a bigger sized shower head? Been to Daiso and Emart but can't find anything, and can't order online since my FRC hasn't arrived yet.

Any help is much appreciated.

honestly if the pipe is bigger than standard, you're prob dealing with a 25mm thread, which is rare in apartments but common in older villas or some officetels. the adapter you want is called a "reducer" (리듀서) and any plumbing shop near a traditional market will have it, but the trick is asking for "25mm to 15mm" specifically, not just "bigger size".

another option is heading to a place like Cheonggyecheon's tool alley (near Jongno 3-ga station), that whole street is nothing but fittings and pipes, you'll find every weird size there for like 2,000 won. also, if you're near Itaewon, there's a small shop on the main strip that sells imported US-sized parts, they usually have 3/4 inch adapters that fit the bigger Korean pipes without much hassle.

i'd skip the big chains honestly, they stock the same standard stuff as Emart. bring a photo of the thread on your phone, and say "이거 맞는 어댑터 주세요" at any 배관상사, they'll sort u out in two minutes.

Check a proper hardware store rather than a living goods place. Try a local branch of Hyundai or Hanil Hardware, or even a big-box like IKEA's plumbing section if you're near Gwangmyeong. The standard Korean pipe thread is usually 15A or 20A, but if yours is bigger, you're likely after a 25A or a 3/4 inch thread. Many shops here sell brass adapters for a few thousand won, so just bring your pipe or a photo of the thread and ask for a "reducer" or "adapter" (어댑터). If that fails, a nearby plumbing supply store (배관자재) near Jongno or Yongsan will have it, they're used to odd sizes.

The plumbing supply stores are the real answer here, but if you want something quicker, try a big home improvement chain like Homeplus or Lotte Hi-Mart's building materials section. They usually stock a wider range of thread sizes than Daiso or Emart, and the staff at the tool counter can measure your pipe for you if you bring it in. Standard Korean shower arms are 15mm, but you might have a 20mm or even an older 3/4 inch thread, which is common in older apartments. A brass reducer from one of those stores will cost you maybe 3,000 to 5,000 won, and they'll have it in stock without a special order. If you're near any traditional market like Gwangjang, the small hardware stalls there are cheaper and often carry odd fittings that big stores don't bother with.

yeah plumbing stores are the move, but if u wanna avoid the hassle, try the app "Baedal Minjok" for nearby hardware shops or even "Coupang" once ur FRC shows up. also, some old school markets have stalls that'll cut u a custom fitting
