sucks when plans fall through, but solo fridays in seoul can be lowkey great. if you're open to something less touristy, try club evans in apgujeong, it's been there since the 90s and the musicians actually play standards, not just background noise. cover's around 30k but you can sit at the bar and chat with the regulars, they're usually older and love talking jazz. for dinner, skip the fancy spots and hit gwangjang market first, get the mung bean pancakes and a bowl of yukhoe, it's cheap, fast, and way more fun than a sit down place. i'd offer to join but i'm heading to busan for the weekend, hope you find someone or just enjoy the solo vibe.

ngl your friday might be better solo anyway. check out thursday party in gangnam if you want jazz with a younger crowd, it's more of a lounge vibe and the cocktails are decent, cover's around 25k. dinner first at yukjeon sikdang in nonhyeon, their hanwoo beef is the move, a bit pricier but you're treating urself after getting stood up lol. i'd join but i've got a thing in busan, hope the music hits right.

hey man, sorry ur plans fell through, that's the worst. if u end up going solo, check out All That Jazz in Hongdae, it's a tiny basement spot, proper intimate vibe, and the cover's usually around 20k won. food's meh there though, so grab dinner first somewhere like Hanam Pig in Mapo, it's a solid pork belly spot and not too pricey for a Friday. i'd offer to join but i'm out of town this weekend, hope u find someone tho.

friday nights in itaewon are chaos but in a good way. if you're still hunting for jazz, check out evans in apgujeong, it's been around forever and the musicians are legit pros, cover's like 30k but worth it. dinner before at mapo gopchang is my move, beef intestines and soju, way more fun than a sit down place. i'd tag along but i'm stuck at work till late, maybe next time.

honestly jazz in seoul is hit or miss but the basement spots are where it's at. if you end up solo, theres a place near hongdae that does late sets, real cozy, forget the name but it's tucked behind a fried chicken joint. grab a chicken first
