**🏛️ Day 1 Morning** Start your trip at the Chengde Mountain Resort (Bishu Shanzhuang), a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enter through the Lizheng Gate at 8:00 AM to avoid crowds. Spend two hours exploring the palace area and the lake district. **🏯 Day 1 Afternoon** After lunch at a local restaurant near the resort's east gate, head to the Putuo Zongcheng Temple (Little Potala Palace). It's a 15-minute walk or a 5-yuan bus ride from the resort. Allocate 1.5 hours to admire the Tibetan-style architecture and climb to the golden roof. **🌅 Day 1 Evening** Stroll along the Wulie River walkway as the sun sets. For dinner, try the Chengde Imperial Cuisine at Xiangheyuan Restaurant (No. 6 Wulie Road). Dishes average 60-100 yuan per person. **⛰️ Day 2 Morning** Take a 30-minute taxi (about 40 yuan) to the Puning Temple, home to the world's tallest wooden statue of Guanyin. Arrive at 8:30 AM to enjoy the temple grounds before tour groups. Spend 1.5 hours here. **🛕 Day 2 Afternoon** From Puning Temple, walk 10 minutes to the Xumi Fushou Temple, a replica of Tibet's Tashilhunpo Monastery. Entry is 30 yuan. Afterward, have lunch at a nearby noodle shop for 15-25 yuan. **🎭 Day 2 Evening** Catch a performance of the 'Imperial Summer Resort' show at the Chengde Grand Theatre (tickets from 120 yuan). Shows start at 7:30 PM. Book in advance during peak season. **🌲 Day 3 Morning** Visit the Putuo Zongcheng Temple if you missed it, or explore the lesser-known Anyuan Temple (free with Mountain Resort ticket). Take bus 6 from the city center (1 yuan) to reach the temple cluster. **🛍️ Day 3 Afternoon** Spend your final afternoon at the Chengde Museum (free entry, closed Mondays) near the resort's south gate. It covers local history and artifacts. Then shop for souvenirs like Chengde silk fans at the nearby pedestrian street.
