**🕌 Golden Temple Visit** Start your trip at the Golden Temple, the spiritual heart of Amritsar. Entry is free and open 24 hours, but the best time to visit is early morning or late evening to see the temple reflected in the sacred pool. Dress modestly and cover your head; scarves are available at the entrance. **🍛 Langar at the Temple** Don't miss the langar, a free community meal served daily at the Golden Temple's dining hall. Over 100,000 people are fed here each day, and you can join as a volunteer to help serve or wash dishes. The meal is simple but filling, usually dal, roti, and rice. **🇮🇳 Wagah Border Ceremony** The daily Beating Retreat ceremony at Wagah Border, about 30 km from Amritsar, is a must-see. Gates open at 3 PM, and the ceremony starts at sunset; arrive early for a good seat. Buses and taxis are available from the city center, costing around INR 200-500 per person. **🍴 Amritsari Food Tour** Amritsar is a food lover's paradise. Head to Kesar Da Dhaba for authentic chole bhature and lassi, or try the famous butter chicken at Bharawan Da Dhaba. For street food, visit the narrow lanes near the Golden Temple for kulcha and jalebis; most stalls are open from 8 AM to 10 PM. **🏛️ Jallianwala Bagh Memorial** Just a 5-minute walk from the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh is a poignant memorial to the 1919 massacre. The site includes a museum with photographs and artifacts, open from 6 AM to 9 PM. Entry is free, and it's a sobering but essential part of understanding India's history. **🚂 Partition Museum** Located in the Town Hall building near the Golden Temple, the Partition Museum tells the story of the 1947 division of India. It's open from 10 AM to 6 PM, closed on Mondays, with an entry fee of INR 100 for adults. Allow at least two hours to explore the exhibits. **🛍️ Hall Bazaar Shopping** For souvenirs, head to Hall Bazaar, a bustling market near the Golden Temple. You'll find Phulkari embroidery, Punjabi juttis (shoes), and brassware. Bargaining is expected, and most shops are open from 10 AM to 9 PM. Try the nearby Guru Bazaar for spices and dry fruits. **🌆 Evening at Company Bagh** Company Bagh, also known as the Ram Bagh Garden, is a peaceful spot for an evening stroll. The garden features a summer palace of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, now a museum open from 10 AM to 5 PM. Entry is free, and it's a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing.
