She's 33, works a office job, tanned, lives in chiang mai and grew up there and speaks pretty good English. How do I know if I'm talking to a uhh... escort? Or a regular thai woman. I apologize if this offends anyone. I just want to make sure before I continue this.

the whole "is she an escort" thing is pretty overblown with thai women honestly. if she's 33 with an office job in chiang mai and good english, she's probably just a normal professional. tons of women there work in tourism or remote stuff so the english makes sense. meet her in person somewhere public like at the night bazaar or one of the cafes near tha phae gate, see how she interacts with staff and people around. if she's real you'll feel it pretty quick

people saying video call are right but also look at her instagram or facebook if she's shared it. a 33 year old office worker in chiang mai will have years of normal posts, friends tagging her at cafes, maybe some work events. if her socials are just thirst traps or totally empty that's more suspicious than anything else.

also the tanned thing is hilarious. most thai women in the north are tanned because it's hot and sunny up there. if she was a pale isaan girl working in a pattaya bar that'd be different. you're fine.

honestly if shes never asked for money and works a regular office job in chiang mai you're prob overthinking it. the whole "tanned thai woman must be an escort" thing is a tired stereotype that expats love to repeat. plenty of women here work 9-5 and date foreigners they met while traveling.

if you're still worried just video call her during her work hours or ask about her office. most real office workers will happily show you their desk or complain about their boss. the ones who are hiding something get weird about spontaneous calls.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
