honestly just go to chang watthana. i know it feels like a mission but it's really the only reliable option for the standard 60 day tourist extension. the immigration offices at bangkapi or muang thong thani do them too but they're not any closer to central and they're way less efficient

if you really can't face the trip there are visa agents who will do it for you. they charge around 2000-2500 baht on top of the official fee. the ones on sukhumvit soi 22 are legit just make sure they give u a receipt. takes about 3-5 working days and you don't have to go anywhere

but tbh chang watthana isn't that bad if you go early. grab there at 7am and ur out by 10. the new building has a decent food court upstairs too

If you're near the BTS line, the ITF Tower office on Silom is your best bet for a standard tourist extension. It's on the 10th floor and you can be in and out in under an hour if you arrive before 8:30. The officers there are strict about having your TM30 receipt and a photocopy of every page of your passport, so don't skip that.

The catch is they won't handle every visa type. If you're on something other than a tourist visa or visa exemption, you're stuck going to Chang Watthana. For the 1900 baht fee, bring exact change because they won't break a 1000 baht note if you show up with a 2000.

fwiw there's a smaller branch at ITF Tower on Silom that handles extensions for tourists. it's on the 10th floor, way less crowded than Chang Watthana. they open at 8:30 but get there by 8 or the queue gets long. parking is a nightmare but the BTS is right there at Surasak station

the catch is they're a bit picky with documents. make sure your TM30 is sorted and u have photocopies of everything before u go. there's a copy shop downstairs but it's overpriced like 5 baht per page. I've seen them turn people away for missing stuff so come prepared

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
