I've heard some whispers about their "secret" rooftop bar, something they don't advertise much. Anyone know the deal? Is it worth the effort to find, or is it just a myth perpetuated by overly-enthusiastic travel bloggers? I'm kinda worried it'll be a total letdown... Or maybe they're just really good at keeping things hush-hush, which would be impressive.

Nah, it's not a myth. The Overstay's rooftop bar is legit. It's small, kinda tucked away, you won't find it on Google Maps easily. But the views are amazing, especially at sunset. Drinks are pricey, but the atmosphere makes up for it. You'll probably need to ask at the reception for directions; they're pretty tight-lipped about it to keep it exclusive, I guess. Think less "wild party" and more "intimate, sophisticated hangout". Worth checking out if you're into that vibe. Just don't go expecting some huge, sprawling scene.

Sounds awesome, thanks! I'm definitely into that more intimate vibe, huge, sprawling places aren't really my thing. Pricey drinks don't bother me too much, as long as the atmosphere's good and the view's as amazing as you say. Appreciate the heads-up about the directions, I'll definitely ask reception.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
