Abuja Embassy's Secret?

Long queues, paperwork nightmares, the whole nine yards. My friend, a Nigerian-Thai, said they're famously efficient, but also famously strict. So, my question is: anyone got tips on navigating the Nigerian Embassy in Bangkok for passport renewal? What's the best approach to avoid the legendary waits? I'm already prepping the paperwork, but any insider knowledge would be gold. It feels like an expedition, honestly.

ngl the fixer thing works but it's not cheap. my guy used a service called "passport express" near asok - cost him 1500 baht extra but they walked his docs through in like 2 hours. the embassy staff are strict about file sizes on photos too, they rejected mine for being too compressed. get printed copies from a shop on sathorn soi 1, the one next to 7-eleven knows the exact specs. also tuesday and wednesday mornings are dead compared to monday/friday

tbh the photo thing is the biggest trap. every embassy has different specs but the nigerian one is weirdly specific about the background being pure white with no shadows. i got mine done at the kodak shop in silom complex for 200 baht and they knew the exact format. also don't bother bringing a laptop or phone charger thinking you'll work while waiting, they make you leave electronics at the security desk and there's no signal inside anyway. the real secret is bringing a thai friend who can translate if things get heated, the staff soften up noticeably when they hear thai being spoken

honestly the trick is knowing someone who works there or has a contact. my cousin did his renewal last year and he said the real bottleneck is the verification desk, not the queue itself. if u can get a local fixer or a friend who speaks thai well to call ahead and confirm your docs are correct, you skip half the drama. also the embassy's on sathorn road, near the bts, so factor in the traffic if you're going by taxi. bring a copy of everything even if u think it's overkill, they asked him for his birth certificate even though it wasn't on the list.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
