Everyone talks about the rooftop bars and the amazing views, but I've heard whispers of a hidden staircase somewhere within the building itself, supposedly leading to some kind of forgotten, abandoned section. Is this just an urban legend, or is there actually something to it? I'm a sucker for a good mystery...

There's an old maintenance stairwell on the south side of the building that goes up to the 14th floor, but it's locked and marked with a faded "No Entry" sign. The cleaners sometimes leave the door propped open in the early morning around 6 AM, and I've heard a few photographers sneak up there for a different angle of the city skyline before the security guard does his rounds. It's not abandoned or forgotten, just a dusty concrete staircase with peeling paint and a view through a dirty window. If you want a real mystery, walk down Soi Nana and look for the faded mural of a samurai behind the motorcycle repair shop.

honestly i think it's one of those things that might have been true 20 years ago but the building's had so many facelifts since then. if you really wanna scratch that urban exploration itch, head over to the old Shanghai Mansion area instead, there's some wild hidden courtyards there that feel totally forgotten

The staircase exists but it's not the kind of secret you'd want to find. It's a narrow concrete service stairwell on the north side that goes from the basement up to the 5th floor, and it smells like stale beer and mop water. The real hidden gem in that building is the little Indian restaurant on the 3rd floor called Punjab Grill, where the owner makes fresh naan in a clay oven right behind the counter. If you want a genuine mystery, walk over to Soi Sukhumvit 11 and look for the tiny alley behind the 7-Eleven that leads to a courtyard full of vintage motorcycle parts and a cat that sits on a stack of old tires.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
