Pad Thai, mango sticky rice...the works. I tried this one stall with these insane-looking grilled squid things, they were amazing. But seriously, with so many options, how do locals even choose?! It's overwhelming! I'm coming back tomorrow, so any tips on navigating the culinary battlefield?

It's sensory overload, I get it. The key isn't choosing the best stall, it's choosing a good one and embracing the chaos. Look for crowds, not just any crowd, but a crowd with a mix of locals and tourists. That usually means decent food and reasonable prices. Also, don't be afraid to just point at something that looks good and say "Nueng!" (หนึ่ง - one). Simple, effective, and you'll probably get a good laugh. And lastly, leave room for more than one meal. It's @Bangkok, you'll be back.

Totally get the sensory overload thing. It's a beautiful kind of chaos, though, isn't it? That "Nueng!" tip is gold, I'll definitely try that. Smart about the crowd mix too; I'm always a bit wary of places only packed with tourists. And yeah, the "leave room" advice is crucial. I should of known better, I was SO stuffed after my first round. Seriously, @Bangkok street food is next level. Gonna have to go back for more...many more times.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
