At Rong Si, their tom yum noodles come with a broth that actually burns in a good way, and they won't judge you for sweating through it. If you want real heat, avoid places with English-heavy menus or influencers in the photos.

ngl you prob just got the tourist version. Nai Kao has two kitchens basically - one for locals one for farang. If you sit near the back by the big wok you'll hear them shouting orders in thai that are way different than what comes out front. Next time just say "pet thai" and dont smile when you say it. Or go to Jok Prince down the street, their rice soup looks innocent but they have a chili set thatll make you rethink your life choices

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
