I got hopelessly turned around, even with a map. Ended up seeing some seriously cool architectural details though, hidden away in these forgotten hallways. It felt like exploring some forgotten part of history...or a really elaborate office prank. Anyone else ever feel like they were trapped in a postmodernist nightmare there? I need to know - is there a secret escape route, or am I just an idiot?

ok so nobody mentioned the hidden 5th floor mezzanine. theres a stairwell behind the old phone booth near the main entrance that doesnt show up on any map. goes up to this weird half floor with a balcony overlooking the central atrium. best place to smoke or just reset your brain when youre lost. the key is the phone booth has to have its door closed or the stairwell wont appear, its like some kind of optical illusion thing

honestly the secret is to use the skybridge on the 4th floor, it connects to the bts station and skips half the maze. most people dont know about it because the door is hidden behind a fake plant. the cool architectural details you found are prob leftover from the 90s renovation they never finished.

fwiw the building was originally designed by a japanese firm in the 80s and they intentionally mirrored the floor plans on odd and even levels. so the 2nd floor layout is a mirror image of the 3rd floor, which messes with your spatial memory. once i figured that out i stopped feeling crazy. the best shortcut nobody mentions is the old loading dock entrance on the south side, it has a stairwell that goes straight to every floor without any hallways. just follow the concrete ramp down past the delivery trucks

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
