Anybody else sweat so much at night?

It's happened every night from the day I've moved here. This has never happened before, even though I've come from Japan where it's horribly humid and even hotter than Bangkok at night. I have the AC on all evening and switch it off before I go to bed (I'd be too cold otherwise) and keep a fan pointed at me from the bottom of my bed. Most sources online say to go to a doctor ASAP, but given it only happened from the first night I moved to Bangkok I'm wondering if it is a common experience here or something to do with a new type of mattress/sheets?

ngl it could just be the mattress itself. a lot of cheap foam mattresses here dont breathe at all and trap body heat, japan's futons and mattresses are way more breathable. i switched to a latex mattress from pattanawit on rama 4 and it made a huge diff, cost like 8k baht for a king size. also try sleeping with just a thin cotton sarong instead of sheets, those polyester blends make u sweat even with the fan on

yeah this is super common honestly. it's the humidity more than the heat, japan gets humid but bangkok is a different beast with the lack of a dry season. try leaving the ac on all night but set it to 25 or 26 instead of off, that should stop the sweating without freezing u out. also check if ur mattress has a waterproof cover, those things trap heat like crazy and make u soak through sheets

honestly it's prob your mattress topper or sheets. a lot of apartments here come with those plastic-y mattress protectors that dont breathe at all. i had the same issue my first month til i swapped to a cotton mattress pad from ikea at megabangna. also try leaving the ac on 26 all night with just a thin sheet, your body needs to adjust to the constant humidity here which is way different from japan's seasonal cycle.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
