another spot that hasn't been mentioned is the little lebanese grocery on sukhumvit 26, right past the k village entrance. it's called al basha and they have a fridge near the register with tubs of muhammara they make in house. it's a bit oily but the smoky pepper flavor is strong. 120 baht for a small container which is fair. they also sell fresh zaatar manakeesh if you want a full meal
if you're near on nut, check the big Tops at Century Plaza, they sometimes stock imported jars in the international section near the olives. otherwise, the Syrian place Al Mustafa is good but honestly i've also seen muhammara at Beirut Restaurant on Sukhumvit 22, they do a homemade version that's way fresher than anything in a jar. prob worth calling ahead to see if they have it that day.
for fresh muhammara, there's a lebanese place near thong lo called beirut 39 that makes a solid version, not too sweet and heavy on the walnut. they're on sukhumvit 39, same soi as sample room. i'd grab some pita from the bakery next door to go with it. the jarred stuff at villa market in thong lo sometimes has a turkish brand called oncu but it's like 280 baht and not worth it imo
best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026
yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
