I'm solo travelling and i'd like to go to some nightclubs but korean friends in my home country told me i shouldn't go alone? Anyone want to go lol

June is a good shout for club hopping since the weather keeps things unpredictable and the crowds are lighter. If you're set on going out, try booking a table at a place like Made in Hongdae or Cocoon, they're used to solo travelers and the staff will keep an eye on you. Another angle is to hit up the "Seoul Pub Crawl" on Meetup, they run events almost every night and you'll roll into clubs as a group, which is way more fun than awkwardly standing at the bar alone. Just be smart about your phone and wallet, and keep your drinking pace slower than the locals, they can outdrink most people.

yeah those dates are right in the middle of rainy season so pack an umbrella, but it also means clubs are less packed which is kinda nice. if u do end up going solo, hit up the areas around Hapjeong station instead of the main Hongdae strip, way more chill bars where people actually talk, and the crowd is less chaotic. also the Thursday Party chain has a location near there, theyre known for mixing locals and foreigners and staff will literally introduce u to groups if u ask. another trick is to hit up a noraebang first, theres tons in that area, people are way more social after a few rounds of singing and its easier to get invited along after that.

Your friends aren't wrong about going to clubs alone in Seoul, it's just not the safest move especially if you don't know the areas. If you end up going solo anyway, stick to places in Hongdae or Gangnam station area where there are more foreigners and English-speaking staff. You could also check out the Seoul Global Cultural Center near Myeongdong, they sometimes have meetups for solo travelers that turn into night-out groups.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
