What is expensive in Korea but relatively cheap in the UK or Europe?

I'm trying to think of a gifts to give generally I'm trying to think of a gifts to give generally

Yeah, decent coffee beans are surprisingly expensive here but dirt cheap in the UK. You can get a bag of specialty roaster stuff from somewhere like Square Mile or Hasbean for like 8-10 pounds, while the same quality here would be 25,000-30,000 won or more. If your friends are into coffee, that's an easy one.

fwiw, good quality olive oil and balsamic vinegar are way cheaper in the UK. a decent bottle of extra virgin that's maybe 5-7 quid at tesco is easily 20,000 won+ here and often not as good. same with wine actually, a solid bottle for 8-10 pounds in the uk would be 30,000 won minimum here.

also, think about kitchen gadgets or home stuff from places like ikea or john lewis. a good quality wooden cutting board or a nice set of oven mitts costs a fortune in seoul but is pretty basic in europe. not the flashiest gift but practical and people actually use them

fwiw, good quality coffee beans are a thing. you can get a bag of specialty single origin from a decent roaster in london for like 8-10 quid, but here in seoul the same thing from a local roastery is easily 30,000 won and up. if your friends are into pour over or espresso, bringing a bag or two from a place like square mile or hasbean would be a nice gesture.

also, think about books. english language books in korea are marked up like crazy, a paperback that's 9 pounds on amazon uk will be 25,000 won at kyobo. if you know what they like to read, a couple of recent releases would be a thoughtful gift that's actually cheaper to bring over.

Coming from Haebangchon, take line 6 to Itaewon then walk up, taxi is only like 6,000 won though. Skip the scones honestly, they're dry. Order the first flush darjeeling a la carte and a slice of their matcha roll.
