Baker's Table in Yeonnam does a proper chewy New York style, way less crowded than the hype spots.
Agreed on the chew, though I'd put the garlic schmear at Huckleberry in Hannam right up there too.
tbh the queue at that place died down after the hype moved to Euljiro, still solid tho
I've only visited Seoul, but I'd say the bagels at Cafe Onion in Seongsu are worth the detour.
Onion's Anguk branch beats it for the croissant.
Fair, but their coffee is oddly weak for a bakery that good.
Yeah their sesame one's underrated, go early tho.
Cafe Onion's Seongsu branch is worth it more for the space than the bagels honestly, the bread leans sweet. If you're already out that way, Gunja-dong has a tiny spot doing proper boiled-then-baked ones, but the name escapes me right now.
Since you're only here short term, hit the Bagel Bar in Itaewon instead, closer to the subway and no Seongsu trek.
the itaewon one is fine but the walk from exit 3 is longer than people think, maybe 8 min uphill

Honestly the noise is worse upstairs near the open kitchen, so ask for a table by the front window when u book.
Front window still catches the kitchen noise through that open pass, so ask for the far corner by the back wall panels instead.

agreed, just avoid the noon rush at the office buildings
went last month on a friday and it's still loud, though they put some soft panels up near the back wall so the corner tables are less brutal now. honestly if you want quiet pizza in that area i'd hit the little spot on the side street off wausan-ro instead, way calmer & the margherita holds up
