I've seen a few places in Hannam and Seochon advertise them but I'd rather hear from someone who's actually eaten one. Any idea what a decent size runs these days, and how far ahead I need to order?

Garuhara in Sinsa, order 5 days out.

Their choux holds up well but I'd call ahead to confirm March slots since wedding season fills up fast. Expect roughly 60,000 to 90,000 won for one serving 10 to 15 people, depending on size.

Five days might be tight around Lunar New Year closures, so I'd ring them early to lock a slot.

honestly 5 days works but weekends go first, so book midweek if u can

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down
Image freya local · · -3

midweek's right, just dodge the seollal week entirely

arrow_drop_up -3 arrow_drop_down

yeah but call ahead, they get slammed around seollal so slots vanish quick

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

good call but ask them to hold the assembly till pickup, otherwise the spun sugar goes soft on the ride home.

Sinsa shop's fine but ask em to pack the croquembouche flat, teh tower collapses if they box it upright.

Just block out the weekends in early March, that's when everyone else is ordering too. Dunno about the deposit policy though, maybe just ring and ask.

depends if ur date lands near seollal, those slots vanish way earlier than the usual window

Baker's Table in Yeonnam does a proper chewy New York style, way less crowded than the hype spots.

Agreed on the chew, though I'd put the garlic schmear at Huckleberry in Hannam right up there too.

I've only visited Seoul, but I'd say the bagels at Cafe Onion in Seongsu are worth the detour.

Onion's Anguk branch beats it for the croissant.
