Best recurring meetups in Seoul 2026 for locals?

the hangang bike rides that leave from yeouido on wed evenings are good for this, mostly koreans in their 30s & pretty low pressure. also look at language exchange nights around hongdae, lot of regulars there tbh

arrow_drop_up 12 arrow_drop_down

wed rides still start by the river park, 7pm ish

language exchange nights moved to hapdong now

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

honestly the hongdae language nights got pretty crowded lately, the smaller one above a cafe near Sangsu station is better for actually talking. fwiw the yeouido ride tends to splinter fast once it hits the Banpo stretch, so stay near the back if u wanna chat.

ttukseom side too, same time

Board game nights at the Dice Latte in Sindang, they run Tue and Thu and regulars actually show up every week. Also look at climbing gyms in Yeonnam, ppl there tend to adopt you after a few sessions. Fwiw I only visited Seoul twice so take it loosely.

Check Seoul Hiking Group on Meetup, they do Bukhansan every Saturday and drinks after; way easier to talk than at a dinner.

Second this, Achasan Sunday mornings too.

Drinks usually at the 7-Eleven near Gupabal, not a bar.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Agreed, though the after-hike group usually splits by pace, so pick the slower one if you actually want to talk.

Wildlife Reserve near Seoul: best time to visit in 2026?

fmd_goodWildlife Reserve · #wildlife #reserve #shuttle

A… I've been meaning to check out the wildlife reserve outside the city but I'm not sure when the animals are most active. Is early morning still the move in 2026, or has the reserve changed its hours? Also curious if the shuttle from the subway station is still running on weekends.

late october is the sweet spot, the rut's on and the elk are loud enough to hear from the trailhead. weekdays after 3pm are dead quiet too if u can swing it.

arrow_drop_up 23 arrow_drop_down
Image cordelia local ·

elk bugling from the west ridge around dusk too

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Image adelequast local ·

yeah late oct is when the bulls actually start bugling proper, not just the odd practice call in sept. one thing though, the west ridge trail gets muddy after rain so wear boots you dont mind wrecking. u going weekday or weekend?

thursdays especially, most school groups gone by then

Rut peaks first week of October some years, watch the rut reports.

early mornings still win, gates open 6:30 and the deer are out before the buses arrive. shuttle from the station runs weekends but only every 40 min now, so check the board when u get there. bring binoculars, the rental ones are beat.

Binoculars rental closed, bring your own pair.

Good to know, mine fog up in the cold anyway.

arrow_drop_up -3 arrow_drop_down

Image zoe local ·

The 6:30 gate matters less than the ticket queue, buy online the night before or you'll lose that window.

Image dorothee local ·

Honestly the shuttle's pointless on weekends, take bus 9701 from Yangjae and walk in through the west gate instead.
