How to meet people at Seoul bars in 2026

Looking for something recurring where I can actually meet people, not a one-off event. I heard spots like 로지우라 have a regular crowd, but how do you break into a group that already knows each other?

rojiura works if u go on a weeknight, like tue or wed, way less clique-y than fri. sit at the counter not a table, the bartender intro's regulars. also look at hongdae climbing gyms or board game nights, same faces every week

Counter seating really is the trick, though I'd add that Tuesdays at some places are dead so Wednesday is safer.

thursdays are the actual sweet spot

arrow_drop_up 23 arrow_drop_down

thurs is when the after-work crowd actually stays past 9

Board game nights at places like Red Table in Hongdae are the better bet honestly, same crowd every week and way easier to just join a table.

yep, the bartender intro is key. just don't roll in past 10, crowd's already locked

Image michaele local ·

10 is generous tbh, most nights the groups form by 9 so aim to be the first one at the bar

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Climbing gym in Mangwon, same crowd weeknights

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

agree on the counter thing, just dont go past 10 or the crowd's already set

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

The bartender intro only works if you're actually a repeat face, so pick one night and stick to it for a month before expecting anything. Also worth checking if the place has a slow Sunday, that's when staff have time to chat and regulars drift in later.

Wildlife Reserve near Seoul: best time to visit in 2026?

Is early morning still the move in 2026, or has the reserve changed its hours? Also curious if the shuttle from the subway station is still running on weekends.

late october is the sweet spot, the rut's on and the elk are loud enough to hear from the trailhead. weekdays after 3pm are dead quiet too if u can swing it.

Image cordelia local ·

elk bugling from the west ridge around dusk too

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Image adelequast local ·

yeah late oct is when the bulls actually start bugling proper, not just the odd practice call in sept. one thing though, the west ridge trail gets muddy after rain so wear boots you dont mind wrecking. u going weekday or weekend?

early mornings still win, gates open 6:30 and the deer are out before the buses arrive. shuttle from the station runs weekends but only every 40 min now, so check the board when u get there. bring binoculars, the rental ones are beat.

Binoculars rental closed, bring your own pair.

The 6:30 gate matters less than the ticket queue, buy online the night before or you'll lose that window.

Honestly the shuttle's pointless on weekends, take bus 9701 from Yangjae and walk in through the west gate instead.
