Aquarium jobs in Seoul 2026: what do they pay?

Does that actually cover rent and living costs in Seoul these days, or do people in this line of work end up commuting from outside the city?
arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Samseong-dong one-rooms run 700 to 900 a month.

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

That range is right for the older villas, but anything rebuilt near the COEX mall is closer to 1.1 million now. Most aquarium staff I know end up in Daechi or Suseo and take the Line 2 or Suin-Bundang in.

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

Daechi makes sense given the rent gap, but the Suin-Bundang from Suseo adds roughly 40 minutes each way to Samseong.

yeah but half of those are officetels with maintenance fees on top so factor in another 100 or so

Image judithputz local ·

Maintenance fees hit officetels harder than villas, 150 easy.

Worth checking whether the posting includes the housing stipend. Big attractions often add 200 to 300 on top for staff on rotating shifts, and the gap between contract types matters more than the base figure.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Contract type matters way more than base pay, honestly

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Image romi local ·

the 200 to 300 usually shows up as a separate line on the contract, not the base

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

gets eaten by tax and insurance anyway

Guryong Village, under 500, but check the redevelopment notices.

Best soondae guk near Pildong in Seoul 2026?

Is it worth the short walk from Chungmuro Station, and do they serve it with the blood sausage or just the soup broth? Any tips on what to order for a first timer would help.

Pildong Soondae Guk is worth the walk, but order the soondae guk with extra sausage and ask for the soup mild since they lean peppery.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

Agreed on the extra sausage, though I'd skip the mild request and just ask for ddeokbaegi rice to drop in, that soaks up the pepper nicely.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Mild request kills the depth, just get ddeokbaegi rice instead.

the garlic chives on the side, toss em in

Image patrizia local ·

extra sausage is the move, ask for seokbakji on the side

arrow_drop_up 4 arrow_drop_down

Seokbakji cuts the richness better than kimchi does, and they'll hand you saeujeot too if you ask.

honestly asking for it mild kinda defeats the point, the pepper is the whole thing. just get ddeokbaegi rice and drop it in, that tempers it without losing depth. heads up they close early on sundays, like around 3.

sunday hours catch people out for sure. they also shut on big holidays like seollal & chuseok so check before u trek over from chungmuro. oh and cash only i think, no card machine last time

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

Ask for it in a ttukbaegi, stays hot longer.
