The city lights twinkling below... I walked around for hours, barely saw another soul. It felt almost otherworldly. My question is, are there any lesser-known viewpoints or hidden trails within the park that offer even better nighttime views than the main paths? I'm planning a return trip soon and want to find that perfect, secluded spot to capture the perfect night shot.

honestly skip the main cable car route and head up from the Hoehyeon side, there's a trail that starts near Hoehyeon Station exit 4 that's way quieter and gives u this killer view of the Seoul Station area at night. the path is a bit steeper but around the 3/4 mark there's this small stone bench tucked behind some pines, barely anyone uses it. bring a jacket tho, that spot gets windy and the temp drops fast after sunset

The trail behind the National Theater of Korea is worth a look. It connects to Namsan Park from the east side and there's a small clearing maybe 15 minutes up that faces directly toward Gangnam. You get the whole southern skyline lit up without any of the tower lights washing out your shot. The path isn't paved past that point so bring a small flashlight, the tree roots get tricky after dark.

If you're heading up from the Myeongdong side, there's a wooden observation deck about halfway up the stairs that most people just walk past. It's set back from the main path and looks out over the old city wall toward Hannam-dong. I've sat there at 11pm on a Tuesday and had the whole thing to myself. The streetlights snake through the hills in a way you don't get from the summit.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
