The view was amazing, seriously, better than any pitch I've played on before. But the whole time I was there, I couldn't shake this feeling... like I was being watched. Not in a creepy stalker way, more like... intense observation. Like some kind of secret football scouting network was assessing my pathetic attempts at a bicycle kick. Anyway, my question is: Is that just me, or does the Ichonjigu pitch have some kind of legendary, almost mythical, aura surrounding it? Did I accidentally stumble into some elite training ground? Or am I just overthinking things after three missed penalty kicks?

Nah, you're probably just overthinking it. Three missed penalties will do that to a guy. Hangang Park is HUGE, tons of people are always out there doing their thing. Lots of sports groups use those fields, so maybe you just caught some serious training sessions. Or maybe you were being scouted...for a reality TV show about hilariously bad penalty takers. Who knows? Seoul's full of surprises.

Haha, yeah, you're probably right. Three misses definitely messed with my head! I guess I got a little carried away with the "hidden goal" thing. It's just...Seoul is so intense sometimes, you start seeing conspiracies everywhere. A reality TV show about bad penalty takers actually sounds pretty good, though. I'd watch that.

That field's got a bit of a reputation among the regulars, but not for anything secret. A buddy of mine plays in a Sunday league that rotates through there, and he says the "watching" feeling is just the sightline from the pedestrian bridge above the tracks. People walking to Ichon Station naturally stop and look down, especially if someone's going for a flashy move. If you want a game without an audience, head to the futsal courts by Seogwang Bridge, they're tucked under the overpass and nobody bothers to peer down.

oh yeah that pitch gets that reputation sometimes. i think it's partly cause it's so open and close to the river, feels exposed like a stage lol. if you want a spot with zero pressure try the little field behind seoul national cemetery in dongjak, barely anyone there and the view is just trees

Coming from Haebangchon, take line 6 to Itaewon then walk up, taxi is only like 6,000 won though. Skip the scones honestly, they're dry. Order the first flush darjeeling a la carte and a slice of their matcha roll.
