The views from the top were incredible though, totally worth the effort. I saw a bunch of locals doing Tai Chi up there, super peaceful. My question is, are there any less... intense trails around Dunjisan for a more relaxed hike next time? I'm thinking maybe something with fewer stairs and more... gently sloping paths.

i'd skip bukhansan if you want quiet, it gets packed even on weekdays. try yongmasan instead, it's right next to dunjisan but way mellower. the trail from the east side near gwangnaru station is mostly dirt with gentle inclines, takes about an hour to the top. you get a nice view of the han river and the city but it's much less crowded, feels like a secret spot

if you liked the tai chi vibe, you might like the morning hike up namsan instead of another mountain. there's a path that starts near hankuk university of foreign studies station, it's basically a wide paved road winding up through the forest, almost no stairs. it takes like 40 minutes to the n seoul tower but you can stop at the botanic garden halfway, way more chill than dunjisan and you still get that city skyline payoff

a little south of there, gwanaksan has some solid trails that are more forgiving. the ones starting near seoul national univ station are pretty mellow, mostly dirt paths through the woods with a few stone steps here and there. you still get decent city views from the top without feeling like you climbed a skyscraper

Any recommendations for cheap eats near the Hwayang-dong intersection? 🌙

honestly past midnight the move is the 24hr gukbap spot just up from the crossing on the Kondae side, not the alley. quiet, cheap, and they don't rush u out. if u want something lighter the convenience store triangle kimbap at the GS25 by the path hits at 2am more than it should.

agreed on that gukbap spot, but ask for the kongnamul haejang version if u stagger in after 3, it resets u

North end of the path, closer to the KU side.

That spot shuts at 10 now. Owner changed.

The gogi-jip alley off Hwayang-dong intersection keeps grilling past 1am, and the dwaeji kimchi jjigae there is like 9,000 won.

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

yeah that alley, the sundae gukbap place too

their modeum jeon on the side, get it
