The place was swanky, all marble and hushed tones. But, I swear, I heard a faint piano melody coming from the unoccupied room next door late at night...twice! It was beautiful, almost melancholic. Anyone else ever experience anything strange there? Or am I losing it? I should of mentioned it at the front desk, but... I kinda chickened out. It felt weird, y'know?

It's probably not ghosts. The Hamilton went through a major renovation about five years ago and they redid most of the plumbing and HVAC systems. Those old pipes in a building that size can make some weird resonant sounds when the pressure changes, especially late at night when the water usage drops off. If it happens again, check if the melody matches the elevator chime in the lobby, those things carry up through the building's frame like a tuning fork.

The Hamilton is right across from City Hall Station, exit 4. That whole block has weird acoustics because of the subway tunnels underneath. I used to work in a building nearby and sometimes heard music from the vent grates on the sidewalk, sounded like it was coming from underground. Could be the ventilation system carrying sound from the station's busker spots, they close around 10 PM but the tunnels echo for a while after.

You were at the City Hall location, not the one in Itaewon. That branch is the older one, built in the 80s, and the soundproofing between rooms is notoriously bad. I've stayed there twice and could hear the TV from three doors down. The piano melody was probably coming from the hotel's own lounge on the second floor, they have a baby grand and sometimes staff practice after hours. The ventilation shafts in that building are basically giant echo chambers.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
