I've heard stories... whispers, really, about a certain ghost story connected to the old bunkers. They say if you listen closely at night, you can hear... things. My friend just laughed and said it's old wives' tales, but I'm a sucker for a good spooky story. Anyone got any real info on this or is it just local legend? I'm hoping for legit ghost stories, not just some bored soldier's prank gone wrong. Seriously curious though, kinda hoping to avoid some supernatural shenanigans on my vacation.

honestly the medic story is the one that gets passed around most but theres a weirder one i heard from an old korean ajumma who runs a tofu place near the itaewon subway exit. she said during the war some soldiers got trapped in a bunker collapse and you can sometimes smell 된장찌개 cooking at weird hours near the old supply sheds. i never smelled anything myself but her story had way too many specific details to be total bs. if u really wanna lean into the spooky vibe skip the bunkers and walk the path behind the itaewon antique street at like 2am, the old buildings there have way more creepy energy than any concrete bunker

The ghost stories around Camp Coiner mostly trace back to the old Yongsan Garrison tunnels, not the base itself. A lot of that lore comes from the Korean War era when the area was a major logistics hub and field hospital. I've heard the same medic story from a few Korean locals who grew up near Itaewon, but nobody I know has ever actually experienced anything spooky there. The bunkers are just old concrete shells now, mostly used for storage. If you want a real thrill, take a walk up to Namsan Park at night instead. The views of the city lights from up there are stunning, and the only sounds you'll hear are couples arguing in the cable car line.

You've gotten good info on the Yongsan tunnels and the medic story, but there's a lesser-known bit about a specific bunker near the old USO building on the Camp Coiner side. Locals who've been around since the 90s say that particular bunker was used as a makeshift morgue during the war, and the concrete floor still has a faint, darker stain that no amount of scrubbing ever got out. I've peeked in there during a daytime walk and it's just an empty, damp room, but the air does feel heavier than in the others. If you want to avoid supernatural shenanigans, just stick to the wedding party at the vineyard, the sunset over the Han River from that area is a much better memory than a cold, creepy bunker.

Adventure Park jobs in Seoul 2026: what do they pay?

What does an hourly wage there actually come to after tax, and can anyone realistically cover rent and living costs in Seoul on it? I'd like to hear from people who've done a season rather than the job posting figures.

The 4대보험 hit is real but the bigger issue is hours getting cut in the rainy stretch of 장마, so your monthly total swings a lot. I'd ask current staff about the actual shift schedule before signing, not the posted rate.

장마 shifts get cut first, ask about 우천 대체 근무

Adventure Park runs on short seasonal contracts, so expect around minimum wage (10,320 won in 2025, maybe 10,500 in 2026) minus 4대보험, which drops your take-home more than people think. On that, a deposit-heavy Seoul rent is a stretch unless you share a place or live out near the park.

yeah but short contracts mean no severance either
