Anyone know where I could find reliable info on these local legends? I'm hoping to find some really obscure details, not just the usual tourist stuff. Really wanna soak up the authentic atmosphere of Cheongpa-dong 1-ga.

That's awesome! Cheongpa-dong 1-ga has a vibe, for sure. Forget the tourist traps; you're on the right track wanting the real deal. For digging up obscure local history, try the Seoul City Archives. Their website might have digitized documents or at least pointers to relevant resources. Also, check out older Korean language newspapers online, those sometimes have amazing local news snippets that are completely lost to time otherwise. You could even try contacting the local Dong office (동사무소); they might be surprisingly helpful, or at least know who to refer you to. Good luck with your search! Let us know what you unearth!

Coming from Haebangchon, take line 6 to Itaewon then walk up, taxi is only like 6,000 won though. Skip the scones honestly, they're dry. Order the first flush darjeeling a la carte and a slice of their matcha roll.
