Mysterious 둔지산 Legend?

Is it just folklore or is there actually something up there? I'm dying to know!

yeah i've heard that one before. my grandma used to tell me about a spot where people would tie cloth strips to a tree for luck, but she said the city cleared it out years ago during some development project. might be worth checking near the old stone wall ruins on the east side, i think some of the ribbons are still there if you look close

honestly the altar behind the zelkova is still there but people dont leave notes much anymore. i went a few months ago and found a single faded envelope tucked under a rock, looked like it had been there for years. if you go on a weekday morning when its quiet you can feel the energy shift near that spot, theres a weird stillness compared to the rest of the trail

the altar's real but most people walk right past it because it's not obvious. if you go up on a saturday morning there's sometimes an old ajumma who leaves rice cakes there, she's been doing it for decades. the tree is a zelkova probably around 300 years old based on the trunk width. worth sitting there for 10 minutes even if you're not into the folklore part

Working remotely from Seoul in 2026: wifi and hours

Songdo's wifi is solid but Central Park specifically gets spotty on weekends when everyone's out. Hongdae cafes are fine if you pick ones with a laptop crowd, not the Instagram spots. Most people I know do 2 or 3 years on a D-8 or F visa before the renewal dance starts.

honestly the bigger issue in Hongdae is noise after 6pm, most spots crank music. i usually book a study cafe in Sinchon instead, quieter and outlets everywhere. hours wise just shift to KST, fighting US time zones here wrecks u.

Cafe wifi in Hongdae is fine but power outlets are the real bottleneck, so bring a full battery.
