Sogang's Secret Society?

Heard whispers about a secret society, like, really secret, the kind that only pops up in legend and hushed tones from alumni. Anyone know the real story behind those rumors? Is it just folklore, or is there something... more? I'm hoping to uncover some hidden history during my visit, maybe even stumble upon some old initiation rituals (safely, of course!). Fingers crossed I don't accidentally trigger some ancient curse or something...

honestly the whole secret society thing at sogang is mostly just alumni being dramatic about their club initiations from the 80s. there used to be this underground club called the "black candle society" that met in the basement of the thomas more building but it was basically just philosophy majors getting drunk and debating hegel

if you want actual weird history check out the old catholic seminary tunnels under the campus theyre real and creepy as hell but not secret society related more like "nuns stored kimchi here in the 60s" vibes

the real hidden gem is the rooftop garden on the arrupe building at sunset nobody knows about it but the view over the han river is insane. way better than chasing ghost stories

Lol, Sogang secret society? That's a fun one. Most of it's probably just embellished stories passed down through generations of students. Think initiation rites involving ridiculous hazing, maybe some pranks gone slightly wild, that kind of thing. I doubt there's anything genuinely occult going on. Unless... you're looking for real hidden history, check out the university archives. They often have fascinating stuff tucked away, old yearbooks, student newspapers, maybe even some forgotten photos. You might find some juicy gossip there, if not actual secret society evidence. Good luck with your conference though, and don't trip over any stray, magically-cursed textbooks.

Coming from Haebangchon, take line 6 to Itaewon then walk up, taxi is only like 6,000 won though. Skip the scones honestly, they're dry. Order the first flush darjeeling a la carte and a slice of their matcha roll.
