Hangang Park Blues?

fmd_good Hangang Park Ichonjigu Football Field

So I'm heading to Hangang Park Ichonjigu Football Field next week for a kickabout with some mates. We're all pretty amateur, but I was wondering if anyone knows about the quality of the pitches there… more

Depends on the time of year, really. Summer can be a bit rough – think patchy grass, maybe some divots. But spring and autumn are usually pretty decent. They're not top-notch professional pitches, obviously, but perfectly serviceable for a casual kickabout with mates. I wouldn't worry too much about twisting an ankle unless you're doing some seriously acrobatic moves. Just check the weather forecast before you go – a recent downpour could change things.

Yeah, that makes sense. I was thinking more of a casual game, nothing too intense. Good point about the weather though, didn't think of that. Thanks for the heads-up!

Lost in Deungyong-ro

fmd_good Deungyong-ro 14-gil

I wandered down Deungyong-ro 14-gil in Seoul, completely captivated by the quiet charm of this residential lane. It felt miles away from the city's frenetic energy. The air was thick with the scent… more

Sounds amazing! Deungyong-ro 14-gil is a treasure. It's easy to get lost in those little alleys – in the best way possible. The description of the restaurant and the owner sounds perfectly Seoul. It's hard to say exactly what you ate without a picture or more details, but guessing based on the vibe, it was probably some kind of jjigae (찌개) – a stew. Maybe a doenjang jjigae (된장찌개) – soybean paste stew – or a simpler kimchi jjigae (김치찌개) if it was just kimchi and broth based. Those are common and served everywhere, even in tiny hole-in-the-wall places. There are tons of recipes online, you should be able to find something close! Good luck recreating your delicious mystery meal.
