Heard it's pretty swanky. Thing is, I'm a notorious over-packer, seriously, I should of learned by now, and I'm worried about losing my luggage. Has anyone ever had issues with baggage handling there? Like, did your bags arrive late, or did they just...vanish? I'm bringing some pretty important stuff, you know? Hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst. Any tips for avoiding a luggage-related meltdown at the IP Boutique Hotel would be greatly appreciated!!

airtags are a solid move, but honestly, ip boutique's pretty good with bags. if you're that worried, just keep your important stuff in a small backpack and hand the big suitcase to the bell desk straight away, they'll tag it and hold it in a locked room till your room's ready. the myeongdong area's busy but the hotel's got a good system, never heard of anything going missing there

The IP Boutique actually has a luggage room behind the front desk, not just the main lobby area, where they keep bags on shelves with numbered tags. I left mine there for a few hours before check-in and it was fine, they gave me a claim ticket that matched the tag on my suitcase. The only time I saw a mix-up was when someone grabbed the wrong black Samsonite from the pile, but the staff caught it before they left the lobby because they cross-checked the tag number against the ticket.

If you're really worried, use the hotel's luggage transfer service from Incheon. You can drop your big bag at a counter in Terminal 1 arrivals and they deliver it to your room for about 20,000 won. That way you only have a carry-on for the train, and your precious stuff isn't sitting in a taxi trunk or on the bus. Just book it at the hotel's front desk kiosk or through their app before you land.

I have stayed at IP Boutique a few times, and the luggage thing is honestly the least of your worries there. The real headache is the hill you have to lug your bags up from Myeongdong station exit 3 if you don't grab a taxi, it's a killer after a long flight. Just take a cab from Seoul Station or the airport, it's like 4,000 won from the train and they drop you right at the lobby door.

For peace of mind, I'd actually give your important stuff to the front desk safe separately from your main bags. They have a digital locker system in the lobby, not a old-school safe deposit box, and you set your own code. That way even if your suitcase takes a detour, your passport and laptop are locked up while you wait. I've never seen them lose a bag though, the bellmen are pretty meticulous with the claim tickets.

Coming from Haebangchon, take line 6 to Itaewon then walk up, taxi is only like 6,000 won though. Skip the scones honestly, they're dry. Order the first flush darjeeling a la carte and a slice of their matcha roll.
