My flight was delayed, then my bag went missing. The hotel itself is gorgeous, all sleek modern design, but I'm running on three hours of sleep and wearing this ridiculous oversized hoodie I grabbed from my carry-on. Anyone else ever had their luggage lost at Incheon? I'm dying to know if there's a secret to getting it back quicker than the airline claims. Seriously considering buying a whole new outfit... maybe even a new suitcase. This is a disaster.

the hotel staff at ip boutique are pretty solid, ask them to call the incheon airport lost and found center directly. the number is 032-741-0114, it's faster than going through the airline's customer service line. also check if your airline has an office at the airport, some of them keep bags there instead of sending them to the central lost and found

for clothes the hongdae street market is open late and you can get a full outfit for like 50k won including shoes if you haggle a bit. the quality is hit or miss but it'll get you through a couple days

honestly if you need clothes fast head to the underground mall at Hongdae station, it's a 10 min walk from the hotel. there's a Uniqlo and a few Korean brands that'll get you sorted for under 100k won for a full outfit. the quality is decent and you won't feel bad if your bag shows up tomorrow

about the meds though, that's the real issue. Incheon has a 24 hour pharmacy in the arrivals hall and the hotel concierge can prob call them to check if they have what you need. if not there's a big pharmacy near Anguk station that stocks imported meds, just show them the prescription label

the airline will reimburse you for essentials if you keep receipts, but they'll fight you on the suitcase. buy a cheap one from Daiso in Myeongdong for like 20k won, it'll hold up for a few days and you won't be out much if it gets trashed

fwiw the lost luggage desk at Incheon isnt actually that far from the airline counters, it's near gate 28 on the third floor. if your bag is distinctive and you filed a report they usually find it in 48 hours, the flights just get backed up with transfers

for clothes theres a spot called Vinyl Underground in Anguk about 5 mins walk from your hotel, they sell vintage jackets and pants for cheap and the vibe kinda matches the hotel aesthetic. better than buying fast fashion youll never wear again

about the meds though, the hotel concierge can call the Hannam-dong Foreign Pharmacy, theyre used to dealing with tourists and keep a lot of stuff in stock. just show them the label and theyll sort u out, probably cheaper than the airport pharmacy too

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!
arrow_drop_up 14 arrow_drop_down

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
