Heard whispers about a really secretive student society, something about hidden tunnels and late-night rituals? Is this just campus legend, or is there actually something... more to Sogang than meets the eye? I'm dying to know if it's true or total BS. Seriously considering trying to find out myself... anyone with inside info?

You're getting a lot of the same answers, but nobody's mentioned the observatory on the 5th floor of the science building. It's not a secret, just most people don't know the door code. If you're at the conference and make friends with a physics grad student, they can probably get you in on a clear night. The telescope is old but the view over Mapo-gu is worth the awkward small talk.

the real sogang secret is the student council room in the thomas more building, there's a hidden door behind the bookshelf that leads to a small lounge with a view of the han river. it's not a secret society though, just where the student council hides to nap between meetings. if you want actual weird campus stuff, go to the basement of the library around 2am, the vending machine plays classical music when it's low on stock for some reason

Most of what you've heard is just students having fun with the rumor mill, but the tunnel thing has a real origin. The campus was built on an old hillside and there's a network of maintenance corridors under the Thomas More building that used to connect to a bomb shelter from the 1970s, it's bricked up now but some older professors remember using it during drills. If you want to see something genuinely strange, walk around the back of the Arrupe building where the retaining wall meets the parking lot, there's a single payphone that still works and nobody knows why it's there or who pays the bill.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!
arrow_drop_up 15 arrow_drop_down

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
