Seriously stressed. The hotel itself is gorgeous, though, all sleek modern design. I spent the afternoon exploring the rooftop bar, amazing views. Anyone know if lost luggage usually shows up fast in Seoul? Or should I just start buying new underwear...?

Incheon Airport's lost luggage team is actually pretty solid, they track bags through the system and usually get them delivered same day if you filed the report before noon. Since you're at Hamilton, you're literally steps from Myeongdong's main shopping street, so hit up the Nature Republic or Olive Young right there for cheap travel-size shampoo and a pack of socks for under 5,000 won. The rooftop bar is called The Moon, and honestly their kimchi fried rice is better than the chicken, grab that with a Cass beer and the city lights will distract you from the bag stress.

You're at the Hamilton, so you're right by Euljiro-3-ga station. If you need emergency clothes, take exit 6 and walk two blocks to the Daiso next to the CGV cinema. They have basic packs of socks and underwear for like 3,000 won each, nothing fancy but enough to get by. Incheon Airport's lost luggage team is actually pretty efficient, I've had friends get their bags delivered to their hotel within 24 hours. The rooftop bar's view of Myeongdong Cathedral at sunset is worth sticking around for even if your bag drama continues.

The Hamilton is a solid base for this, you're right by Myeongdong station. If you need basics, the Artbox store in the Myeongdong Underground Shopping Center has cute travel packs with socks and toiletries, it's a bit more fun than Daiso for emergency buys. Incheon Airport usually gets bags to hotels within a day if you file the report, so I'd hold off on buying much until tomorrow morning. The rooftop bar does a decent breakfast buffet too if you want to start the day with that view while you wait for news.

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!
arrow_drop_up 15 arrow_drop_down

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
