Lost Luggage Woes?

Gone. The airline says it's not their fault, the hotel says they haven't seen it... So, my question is: has anyone else ever experienced this kind of luggage black hole situation at a hotel here? I'm starting to think my suitcase has developed sentience and ran off to explore @Seoul on its own. I'm running low on underwear. Help.

yeah that's rough, but honestly sometimes the hotel's bell desk just mislabels things if they're busy. ask them to check their storage logs from the day you checked in, not just the front desk's system. the ip boutique is small enough that they prob don't have a massive backroom, so if it's not there it's still with the airline at incheon's baggage tracing office on the arrivals floor near gate 4

also ngl you're in hongdae so just walk to the artbox on 359-10 seogyo-dong, they have cheap packs of socks and underwear for like 5,000 won each. way better than running around in a crisis and you'll look less stressed while you wait

Check the IP Boutique's own CCTV if you can. They're a smaller property so the front desk manager might let you take a look at the footage from the lobby and elevator area around your check-in time. I've had a friend stay there whose bag got swapped with another guest's identical samsonite during a busy checkout rush, and the camera caught it clear as day. For underwear, walk over to the Spao in the AK Plaza basement, they have solid 10,000 won multipacks that are way more comfortable than the Daiso ones and you can grab a plain hoodie too if this drags out.

honestly check your phone for the last time you actually had the luggage tag in hand. sometimes the airline hands it off to a random courier service and the hotel front desk never even scans it in. i'd call the airline's baggage tracing office at gimpo or incheon directly, not the general customer service line. also the ip boutique is in hongdae right? there's a uniqlo on the main street near the ak plaza, grab some cheap basics there and it'll hold u over way better than convenience store underwear

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!
arrow_drop_up 15 arrow_drop_down

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

arrow_drop_up 24 arrow_drop_down

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
