The staff were amazing, seriously helpful and friendly. The room was spotless and modern, but I couldn't figure out how to work the shower...it had like, five different buttons and a dial and I swear I almost flooded the bathroom. Seriously, what's the deal with those shower controls?!

ngl the shower thing is a rite of passage here. the dial usually controls the overhead rain shower vs handheld, and the buttons are for body jets or temp presets. if you hold the big button for 3 seconds it resets everything to a basic setting. next time just tap the top button once and turn the dial slowly until water comes out, way less chaos

The shower controls are a standard feature in newer Korean hotels. The dial adjusts temperature and the buttons toggle between modes like the rain shower and handheld spray. If you just press the top button once and rotate the dial slowly from the left, it avoids the sudden blast. The hotel is a short walk from the Euljiro 3-ga station, which connects to both Line 2 and Line 5, making it easy to get around without needing a taxi.

fwiw the shower thing is basically a game of find the one button that actually does what you want. i had the same issue at the Lotte Hotel in Myeongdong and just ended up pressing everything until lukewarm water came out. the trick is the dial usually controls the main flow and the buttons are for switching between rain shower and handheld jets. if u ever go back, theres a solid gimbap place two blocks south on Toegye-ro that does a mean tuna kimbap for 3,500 won. beats fighting the shower controls for breakfast.

Coming from Haebangchon, take line 6 to Itaewon then walk up, taxi is only like 6,000 won though. Skip the scones honestly, they're dry. Order the first flush darjeeling a la carte and a slice of their matcha roll.
