I kept getting lost amongst all the amazing trails. Any recommendations on which trails offer the best combination of scenic views and manageable difficulty for a relatively fit person? I'm thinking of going back next month and want to make the most of it this time.

Gwanaksan is a solid option if you want something closer to the city than Bukhansan but with more of a hike than Namsan. The trail from the main gate at Seoul National University station takes about 90 minutes to the summit, and there's a great view of the Han River and southern Seoul from the top on a clear day. It can get a bit crowded on weekends, but it's nothing compared to the queues at Baegundae.

ngl i think the namsan map struggle is real because they keep changing the trail numbers every few years lol. if ur coming back next month maybe try the north side trails up from hyochang park station, it's a quieter entrance and you hit the cable car area from the back instead of fighting through tourists. the path winds through some old japanese colonial era buildings which is a neat bonus, and the incline is steady but not punishing. takes about 45 mins to the top if you're moving at a good clip

Dobongsan is worth a look if you want something with a bit more edge than Namsan but still manageable. The main trail up to the peak is steep with some scrambling near the top, but the payoff is a 360-degree view of the northern mountains and the city below. It's about a 40-minute subway ride from central Seoul on Line 1, and there's a convenience store right at the base to grab water before you head up.

Coming from Haebangchon, take line 6 to Itaewon then walk up, taxi is only like 6,000 won though. Skip the scones honestly, they're dry. Order the first flush darjeeling a la carte and a slice of their matcha roll.
