Forget about it. Trying to upload photos of my amazing Korean BBQ feast was a nightmare. It took longer to upload one picture than to eat a whole bowl of bibimbap! Seriously, what's the deal with hotel internet these days?! Is it always this painfully slow, or did I just get unlucky?

Hotel Wi-Fi in Seoul? Yeah, that's a common complaint. It's often not up to par with what you'd expect, especially in supposedly high-end places. It's like they prioritize the aesthetics over the functionality. I've had similar experiences, not just in Seoul but other big cities too. Sometimes it's just overloaded, other times it's just plain bad infrastructure. Your experience wasn't unusual, unfortunately. Maybe next time try using your mobile data as a backup, or maybe even consider getting a local SIM card for better speeds.

Totally get that. Seoul's wifi situation is...a rollercoaster. Some places are amazing, others are like dial-up. It's infuriating when you're paying a premium for a hotel and the internet's slower than my grandma's knitting speed. Local SIM card is a good call, I should of thought of that. Thanks for the tip!

The place was PACKED, like seriously wall-to-wall people. I managed to snag a spot at the bar and ordered their legendary spicy soy garlic wings, holy moly, they were incredible. The crunch, the flavor...it was a flavor explosion. But here's the thing: I saw the owner, this super chill dude, whispering to a staff member about some "special sauce." I'm dying to know... what's the secret ingredient in that insane sauce?!
arrow_drop_up 15 arrow_drop_down

the whispering thing is real but its not about the sauce lol. that guy runs a 2am handoff with the chicken supplier, they drop off fresh birds from a farm near Chuncheon three times a week instead of using the frozen stuff most hongdae spots rely on. thats why the texture hits different, not the sauce itself. if u go back ask for the neck & wing combo off menu, its cheaper & honestly the best cut they do

the thing nobody mentions is that Dogdogdog's sauce gets its body from cheong, the Korean rice syrup, not sugar. thats why it coats the wing so thick and stays glossy instead of going sticky. i asked a guy who worked there and he said they also add a splash of maesil (plum) extract at the end off the heat. that fruity tang under the garlic is what you're tasting. go on a weekday before 6, weekends the wait hits 40 min easy.

honestly the "secret sauce" thing is prob just marketing. every fried chicken place in Seoul has a version of that story. the real difference at Dogdogdog is they double fry in rice bran oil and toss the wings in the sauce twice, once right out of the fryer and again after a 30 sec rest. thats where the crunch comes from, not some mystery ingredient. if u wanna taste the actual base, order the banban half plain half spicy and dip the plain one in the spicy sauce yourself.
