New Year's Eve in Seoul's Hotspots

Looking for New Year's Eve parties in Hongdae, Itaewon, and Gangnam, especially upscale clubs in Gangnam. Any recommendations?

Gangnam's upscale club scene for NYE is… intense. Expect hefty cover charges and bottle service minimums. Check out clubs around Apgujeong Rodeo Street – they usually go all out for New Year's. Reservations are absolutely essential, weeks in advance if you're aiming for the top-tier places. Hongdae and Itaewon will be buzzing, but more of a mixed bag – more casual parties and street celebrations there. Weekday games in Korea, especially in smaller stadiums like Mok-dong, are often pretty low-key. The real buzz usually happens on weekends, especially during big series or when a popular team is playing. Also, the online hype might be a bit… exaggerated. Social media tends to show the best moments, not the quieter ones. Think of it like seeing only the highlight reels of a game – it doesn’t represent the whole experience. Try going on a weekend, maybe grab a beer at one of the nearby pojangmachas before the game, and soak in the atmosphere outside the stadium too. That might give you a better feel for the local scene.
