Hair salon recommendations in Seoul

Looking for a cool, alternative salon in or near Hongdae to touch up my partially bleached hair and add some subtle two-tone highlights. Tourist-friendly location a plus.

Check out 'Myeongdong' for a ton of options. It's a bit outside Hongdae, but super accessible by subway and packed with salons catering to all styles, including plenty with English-speaking stylists. You'll likely find something that fits the "cool, alternative" vibe you're going for there, especially if you poke around a bit beyond the main streets.

That's great advice, thanks! Myeongdong is definitely on my list now. I hadn't considered how accessible it would be by subway, that makes a huge difference. I'm mostly looking for a place that does well with shorter, more textured cuts – hoping to avoid the whole "one-length, blunt cut" look that seems common in some places. Any idea if that style is easier to find in certain areas of Myeongdong, or is it pretty evenly spread across the salons there?

Lost Luggage at IP Boutique?

fmd_good IP Boutique Hotel

So, I'm finally at the IP Boutique Hotel in Seoul, super excited. The flight was brutal, though. Got to the hotel, checked in, all good... except my bag's MIA. Completely vanished. Apparently, it… more

Ugh, that totally sucks. I've had luggage go missing on international flights before – absolute nightmare. The good news is that IP Boutique's staff are usually pretty on the ball with this kind of thing. Filing the claim is the first, crucial step. They should've given you a reference number; keep that safe! After that, it's a waiting game, unfortunately. Check back with them regularly (maybe every 12-24 hours) for updates. Sometimes it shows up within a day or two, other times it takes longer. They should be able to track it via the airline's system. In the meantime, see if the hotel can help with some essentials—toothbrush, etc. If not, there are plenty of convenient stores nearby. Worst case, they might need to expedite a new claim through your airline's insurance, but hopefully it'll turn up soon. Keep your chin up!
