Where is a good place to get foreign currency (Thai Baht / Australian Dollars) in Gangnam/Jamsil?

Ideally a bank (really ideally Woori) that has those currencies available easily?

Would appreciate suggestions between Gangnam station area and Jamsil. Thank you!

honestly just go to any Woori branch near gangnam station, they'll order THB and AUD for you if they don't have it on hand. tell them u need it next day and they'll call u when it's ready, usually takes a day or two. the one inside the gangnam station underground concourse is pretty quick with this.

if u're in jamsil, the shinhan bank by lotte world mall has both currencies pretty much always stocked, i've seen ppl walk out with baht same day. exchange rate is basically the same as woori, so don't stress which bank. the real trick is avoiding the booths near seolleung station, they markup like crazy.

also fyi, the airport exchange desks in seoul actually give decent rates now, not like the old days. but if u're set on a bank, woori in gangnam will sort u out. just bring ur passport and a bit of patience.

The Woori main branch near Gangnam Station, the one right off exit 8 on Teheran-ro, handles walk-ins for THB and AUD without much fuss. They usually have AUD on hand since it's a common business currency, but THB often needs a day's notice, so call ahead and ask for the foreign exchange desk.

If you're closer to Jamsil, skip the bank and try the foreign exchange counter inside Lotte World Mall's basement level, it's run by KEB Hana and they've had both currencies stocked whenever I've checked. Rates there run within a few won of the bank's posted rate, so you're not losing much for the convenience.

One thing nobody mentioned: bring your passport and your ARC if you have one, banks here won't touch the exchange without it. Also, don't bother with the booths in the underground walkway between Gangnam and Yeoksam, they advertise zero commission but bury the spread in the rate.

try the woori branch inside the jamsil lotte tower, basement level near the food court. it's lowkey busier but they deal with a ton of expats so they stock AUD and THB more often than the smaller branches. if they're out, they'll do a next-day order no drama, just ask for the foreign exchange desk directly.

for AUD specifically, the shinhan branch by seoul national university of education station exit 4 keeps a solid stash, i've grabbed aussie dollars there same day twice. it's a bit out of your way but not terrible, one stop past gangnam on line 2.

skip the tiny booths inside jamsil station itself, the ones near exits 8 and 9. they'll quote u a rate that looks fine but the margin on baht is brutal. and if u're doing more than like 500 usd worth, check the keba or hana bank app first, they sometimes have better promo rates for online reservations than walk-in counters.

Coming from Haebangchon, take line 6 to Itaewon then walk up, taxi is only like 6,000 won though. Skip the scones honestly, they're dry. Order the first flush darjeeling a la carte and a slice of their matcha roll.
